I homeschooled our 7 Kids. Looking back, my kids got a great education. Still, I can’t help but think of more I could have done. 🙂
If you homeschool and are looking for creative ways for learning. Stick around! Please, hear me out because this might be thinking way outside your homeschool box
I’ve been thinking about direct sales and homeschooling and how it could be a perfect hands-on experience for kids to learn the ins and outs of running a business.
I wonder why I didn’t consider this.
Direct sales as a family can give your kids life experience in a lot of different business skills. Here are just a few I produced in no order. I’m sure there are more. Plus, there are many options when it comes to Direct Sales businesses.
Business Skills you can learn from Direct Sales
- Startup costs
- Income Tax
- Accounting
- Setting Goals
- Making a plan to Reach the goals
- Working the plan
- Understanding Profit and Loss
- Working with Teammates (aka parents/siblings)
- Opening a Bank Account
- Counting Inventory
- Tracking Mileage
- Showing up at a Business Meeting
- Reflection-What worked well, what needs to be tweaked, what needs to be dropped.
- Communication
- Working Through Conflict (not that you don’t learn this otherwise in homeschooling 🙂 )
Of course, there are other ways to give your kids hands on business skills. My Daughter worked with my FIL in his Model Horse Business. Even though my FIL is gone and she is married and expecting her first child she still has a successful model horse harness business.
As you already know homeschooling gives so many learning options. I would love to hear; do you have creative ways to teach your homeschooler business skills? 09/14/2022
